Bake Exchange December 5,2008

On Friday night I was fortunate to participate in the ladies annual bake exchange. We headed out for dinner at a Greek restaurant first and had a fabulous and very filling meal. We managed to start to get caught up with everyones live in the last few months. We continued our conversations at Laura's home as we went to exchange all of our baked goodies and have some coffee and tea to chase down our very filling dinners. Conversations continued and laughter was shared. We did try and take a few group photos which I am sharing but note to self bring tripod next time! Thanks ladies for another yummy and delicious bake exchange!

Just for fun December 1,2008

So I have been trying different programs and printing out the last little while I came across this Mosaic program and thought I would try it out. http://homepage.mac.com/knarf/MacOSaiX/
I have posted the picture I have used and the Mosaic I produced with it. It would probably be a nice idea at the end of each year to take a favorite picture and use all the photos from that year!

Enjoy!

So far behind... November 28,2008

If you are still checking in I sincerely apologise. I have been quite far behind in my updating. So many activities and events have been going on I have not been on top of my game. I have posted a few of my favorites from Jodi & Jim's wedding and a photoshoot with the G family. There are many more in my flickr account. There are some many new things that I have been learning along with time management. So thank you for continuing to check in and hopefully I am back in the swing of regular posting again.

Thanks

Anniversary Dinner for M & D S November 7,2008

Last night we hosted a anniversary dinner for Mom & Dad S. Darren was in charge of the roast which had a coffee rub that we purchased in Maui last year. Long story short it was fabulous when we did sit down and eat but I can mention that Darren did manage to utilize most cooking surfaces and utensils available to him. We probably would have not had too much of a situation our hands except we did not manage our time effectively, thus the haste to make sure it was cooked to it's potential. So I can recap the crock pot was used, the stove, the oven and the BBQ and numerous amounts of dishes. This was not a normal occurence at our house. But it sure was fabulous when we did eat!
After dinner we played a little Wii. We bowled for a bit, then some baseball and golf, then the one we ended with was boxing. I can safely say everyone enjoyed themselves.

Happy 44th Anniversary Mom & Dad!

Day with Daddy! November 6,2008

Okay it wasn't a dream day of outdoor play as the rain has started here. But we did make the best of it. We had an enjoyable morning together then we headed out to do some errands. We rarely have time to stop and shop in Richmond as we are usually coming and going to the airport. We stopped a both major malls to look for a few finishing touches on our Christmas shopping. I was treated to a new winter coat! Yippee as I have had the same beautiful wool coat for 10 plus years. When they say classic styles I really believe it! LOL! Anyway we made the best of a rainy day Sam was enthralled to see a smoothy booth in the food court so Daddy treated. Then we cruised around and finally hit a children's play area in the mall it just happens to have a play plane to hop around on, Sam had a blast!

Jim & Jodi's Day November 1,2008

Friends, Family & Festivities. That is what the day was filled with for Jim & Jodi. We had the pleasure of being invited to our friends wedding and helping them celebrate their nuptials. What a beautiful day it was, yes it was slightly overcast but that did not dampen anyones spirits. Jim & Jodi exchanged vows amongst family and friends in the most beautiful and quaint chapel. The minister was well spoken and eased some nerves that may have been around. The ceremony proceeded smoothly and on to the celebrations and the reception which was well planned and gorgeously put together by another friend, Shannon. A small cake emergency was averted again thank to Shannon. And the evening continued with many smiles, laughter and a few tears. The M.C. Ben did a fabulous job, our dear friend Jill who was the Matron of Honor gave a touching and well thought out speech followed by Marnie , Jodi's sister. We danced the night away and also took the time to give thanks that all of our dear friends have found someone special to share their lives with!

Cheers!

Beach on a Fall Day October 28,2008

Darren had one day off so we headed off to the beach for a walk around. Should preface by saying I stoled my parents dog as they are having their floors refinished and I thought Mia might appreciate the break from all the noise. So we all piled in the car and went to White Rock for a beautiful morning jaunt. Mia was thrilled to be running around with Bronny but was slightly hesitant when she saw Bronwynne plow into the water. It doesn't matter what season it is for Sam and he continues to think he is a digger and went right to work getting dirty. Life of a boy hey!

More pumpkin pictures October 25,2008

Pumpkin Carving October 25,2008

Last night we had Darren's family over for our annual pumpkin carving night. We hosted as we had about 23 pumpkins. I would say the unfortunate part is my pumpkins we still green as we had a lack of sun this summer and I had a late start(note for next year!). Darren pre-cleaned a few of the pumpkins and I whipped up a batch of Chicken Catchatori with spaghettini. For desert I made a homemade eat-more bar and my cousins fruit coffee cake. The kids seemed to have had fun and ate so that always makes for a better evening. All and all another successful pumpkin night! Till next year!

Pumpkin Patch October 19,2008

Today we had the pleasure of meeting some friends at Alder Acres in Langley. We had a lovely time the kids stomped around saw a few animals and giggled and laughed. We took a hay ride in the pumpkin patch. Sam was more in love with the tractor pulling the hay wagon, that's my boy!
After the pumpkin patch we all headed out for a lunch at the Spaghetti Factory. All the kids did really well and humored us throughout the meal.

Thanks again friends!

Day trip to the Vancouver Library October 16,2008

On a grey, cloudy and soggy day we headed to the Vancouver Library as they were hosting a book sale. We thought it would be a nice way to get out of the house for the day and enjoy a bit of city life. Unfortunately we have sick Sam and he was ever so grumpy once we arrived at the library. We managed to have a look around and grab a couple of new reads. Then we grabed a cup of joe and took a stroll around. It actually was nice just to walk around Sam was cozy in his stroller which was the best place for him with a warm blanket around him. After we took a drive around Stanley park and over the bridge to North Vancouver.

Home! October 13,2008

It has been quite some time since I updated and I do apologize for that. I have been in a photo slump hopefully I have reenergized and will be sharing a bit more.

We had the pleasure of going to Calgary to visit some friends. Darren had a ground school class so we made the most of the trip. We all had a marvelous time with our friends and appreciated their hospitality and warmth during our stay. I had have a little more inspiration as Dan also has a passion for photography and was kind enough to take me to The Camera Store. It was fabulous and very exciting. Sam had a hoot as their son was kind enough to play and share his toys. I also had the honor of going for a facial at SKOAH, as it turns out Jodi works their and treated me to the best thing since sliced bread. It was an amazing experience and I would encourage anyone who is either in Calgary or Vancouver to look into their services.

Thank you again to our friends and we look forward to seeing you soon too!

Also wanted to mention that I actually did not take my camera with me to Calgary(I know I was shocked too) so these pictures were taken by Dan and Jodi. Thank you!
